At first, we were welcomed by a variety of pieces from Mexican cuisine. Some of them: enchiladas, taquitos, tamarind juice. Also, in another table, a great collection of Tequilas of the highest quality was given for taste, to better accompany what we were eating at the moment.
After a few minutes of meeting up with other fellow Fulbrighters, everyone attending the event was asked to give a short introduction of themselves. Later, members of the Consulate gave us a talk about their activities in the region.
In addition, they acknowledged the presence of representatives of the consulates of Colombia and Peru and recognized our friend Alberto as a Fulbright student from Mexico. We were also showed a short video with the intention to promote tourism to this neighboring country.
To close the event, a couple of “Mariachis” (Mexican musicians) played the Harp and sang traditional songs for the delight of the audience.
